Legislative Update – February 17, 2017

TWO ACTION ALERTS:

FIRST:   Call your State Representative and ask him/her to pass these important pro-life bills!
http://www.house.mo.gov/member.aspx

HB 174 – Sponsor:  Tila Hubrecht Would give protection to Pregnancy Resource Centers, Maternity Homes, Churches, Christian Schools and Businesses from being forced to participate in, refer for or be involved in any way in abortion.  This attack on our religious freedoms came in St. Louis when the Board of Aldermen passed and the Major Slay signed BB 203.  Under the new ordinance, the City of St. Louis can fine landlords that refuse to rent to abortion clinics, or Catholic schools that fail to hire teachers that publicly promote abortion. Catholic businesses could be required to cover abortion in their insurance plans or face possible fines by the city.

The Missouri General Assembly has the authority to strike down the St. Louis ordinance and make sure other Missouri communities don't pass similar laws. Municipalities are political subdivisions of the state of Missouri; they are under the authority of the state of Missouri.

HB 326 – Sponsor:  Rocky Miller Would require two-parent notification before an abortion on a minor girl.

SECOND: Call your State Senator and ask him/her to pass these important pro-life bills!
http://www.senate.mo.gov/2017-senator-listing-2/

SB 41 – Sponsor:  Wayne Wallingford that would also give protection to Pregnancy Resource Centers and Maternity Homes.  During the hearing on SB 41, the situation in St. Louis and BB 203 was discussed and we expect this bill to be expanded in the same way as HB 174.

SB 67 – Sponsor:  Bob Onder This bill requires an annual abortion clinic inspection and requires accountability for aborted baby body parts.
