Legislative Update – March 8, 2019

The Highlight of the week was on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 when the Missouri Senate Health and Pensions Committee held a hearing for 4 pro-life bills.  The 4 pro-life bills heard are:
SB 279, the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, sponsored by Sen. Bob Onder;
SB 139, the Heartbeat bill, sponsored by Sen. Andrew Koenig;
SB 345, the trigger bill to ban abortion in Missouri when Roe v Wade is overturned, sponsored by Sen. Andrew Koenig.  This bill includes a life of the mother exception; and,
SB 312, the bill to define the mission of the State Department of Health and Senior Services to say that they care for the life of all Missourians, born and unborn, sponsored by Sen. Bill Eigel.

The Senate Health and Pensions Committee members are: https://www.senate.mo.gov/hpen/
If your Senator is on this committee, call and ask him/her to vote in support of these 4 bills.

Pro-life Missourians look forward to the Senate’s action on these life-saving pieces of legislation as well as the HB 126 as amended that was delivered to the Senate last week.  We look forward to the full Senate standing with the House and passing the most pro-life bill ever attempted in our country that will include multiple life-saving bills on one bill.

Missouri is a pro-life state, and we know our super majorities in the House and Senate will not stand by as liberal states around the country legalize abortion up to birth and even look the other way on infanticide.

We know Missouri will send a strong message in defense of the unborn! Missouri will deliver pro-life legislation that will save thousands of lives and ensure safety for women in healthcare.
