Pro-life bills are moving slowly through the process. Below is a list of the bills we are tracking:
HB 1725 & SB 747 – The new federal health care law allows states to prohibit health insurance exchanges operating in their state from offering coverage for elective abortions.
HB 1327 & 2000, SB 793 & SCS SB 792 – These bills guarantee that women get the opportunity to see an ultrasound and hear their baby’s heatbeat 24 hours before an abortion.
HB 1546 & SB 792 – These bills require the Department of Health to update the abortion statistic reporting requirements. Women would also be given the opportunity to say why they are choosing to have an abortion. This information would allow the Alternatives to Abortion providers to focus some of their services towards helping other ladies in these same situations to choose life for their baby.
HB 1365 – Protects pharmacies from lawsuits by abortionists when that pharmacy refuses to carry any drug or device that causes an abortion.
There are numerous economic development bills that require amendments to prevent funding or incentives for human cloning and embryonic stem cell research. Missouri Right to Life is working diligently to get pro-life protections on these bills.

Your attendance at next week’s Pro-Life Action Day is crucial in helping us get these bills to their final passage! It is likely that HB 1327 & 2000 will be debated on the House Floor during our legislative action day.
